The Nakshatra Shanti puja or Nakshatra puja is performed to nullify the bad effects of nakshatras prevailing at the time of a person's birth. The puja aims to finish the bad effects of the planets in their main periods ( Mahadasha) or sub-periods ( antardasha) and attain positive results from Lord Nakshatra. Also, to get beneficial results from the same planets, we perform Nakshatra Shanti. As per Vedas, Nakshatra Shanti Puja is essential in our lives. It is conducted once a year for the betterment of one's life. Ashlesha nakshatra Shanti, Vishakha nakshatra Shanti, Mool Nakshatra Shanti, Revati Nakshatra Shanti, Ashwini Nakshatra Shanti, Magha Nakshatra Shanti, and Jyeshta Nakshatra Shanti these are the different types of Gand Mool Nakshatra Shanti. A person born in Ashlesha, Jyeshta, or Revati nakshatra should worship Mercury. 

When an individual takes birth, His destiny is decided by God and is shown by Kundali / Horoscope. Destiny means Birth time, Birthplace, or Birth Nakshatra. When a person is born, the moon and the other planets have their specific zodiac signs in which they are present. Planets have huge effects on the life of the person who is born. 

As per our Hindu Vedic astrology, Nakshatra or Janam Nakshatra have significant effects on almost every phase of our lives, including Health, Wealth, Our Nature. Nakshatra plays a key role in shaping life. It is associated with Mahadasha, due to which it has an intense effect on your destiny. Even the duration of Mahadasha and Antar Dasha is also calculated based on the nakshatra, which signifies where the moon was placed at our birth.

Apart from the planets, there are 27 Nakshatras. They are also having powerful effects on the person's life. Due to the malefic impact of Nakshatras, it causes unhappiness of the person to a very great extent. One can become averse to his good luck when malefic effects of Nakshatras entrap a person to the extent that he/she cannot recover from the impact of the Nakshatra. For the suitable position of planets ( Grah) or to get suitable Kundali Yog, we perform Nakshatra Shanti Puja. 

Gand Mool Nakshatra Shanti

To reduce the bad effects of Gand Mool Nakshatras, we perform Gand Mool Nakshatra Shanti Puja. As per the standard practice by Aarcharya, it is said that Gand Mool Nakshatra Shanti should be done within 27 days after the child's birth.

This Gandh Mool Nakshatras presence is not so good for the child. As per Jyotish Shastra, the child born in these Nakshatras has to face many issues from childhood to old age. He has to face problems related to education, health, carrier, marriage, property, and other aspects of life. Not only the child but also the family members have to face problems along with him. Mool, Jyeshtha, and Ashlesha have more effects as compared to other Nakshatras. 

As per Jyotish Shastras, There are 27 Nakshatras. They are 27 equal division of Lunar path (Moon's path). The path covered by the moon in the year is equally divided into 27 divisions and each sector. 

Out of 27 Nakshatras, 6 Nakshatra are considered inauspicious, and they are called Gand Mool Nakshatra. 

These six nakshatras are listed below.

  • Ashlesha Nakshatra
  • Mool Nakshatra
  • Jyeshtha Nakshatra
  • Magha Nakshatra
  • Revati Nakshatra
  • Ashwini Nakshatra

Ashlesha Nakshatra Shanti:

Ashlesha nakshatra is traditionally considered as the bad nakshatra. We perform Ashlesha nakshatra Shanti Puja to reduced the bad effects of ashlesha nakshatra on a horoscope. Ashalesha nakshatra Shanti puja gives more power or positivism to Ashlesha nakshatra. This puja will provide its beneficial effects to the person with more frequency and more quantum. If Gand Mool dosh is also created in the horoscope due to the wrong position of the moon in ashleasha nakshatra, that time also we perform ashlesha nakshatra Shanti puja. It takes two days to accomplish. It will be more effective if we start this puja on Wednesday and complete it on Thursday. The day to start Ashlesha nakshatra Shanti puja may change depending on the time. Pandit recites Ashlesha Nakshatra's Shanti mantra while performing puja. 

Mool Nakshatra Shanti: 

Mool Nakshatra Shanti Puja must be performed for the Shanti or to calm down the mool nakshatras. In this ritual, eleven thousand mantras of the planets are chanted. Leaves of twenty-seven different plants are collected for the puja, & water is gathered from twenty-seven different places. To negate the sinful effects of mangal Gandant or mool dosh that form in the person's horoscope. 

People born on this nakshatra should donate brown-colored clothes or cat's eye gemstone on Wednesday or Thursday of every month.

Jyeshtha Nakshatra Shanti: 

People perform Jyeshtha Nakshatra Shanti Puja to nullify the bad effects of Jyeshta nakshatra in a horoscope. Jyeshtha Nakshatra Shanti puja gives more power or positivism to Jyeshtha nakshatra. Guruji performs Jyeshtha nakshatra Shanti puja as Gand Mool dosh nivarn pooja. 

Puja takes seven days to complete. Guruji starts Jyeshtha nakshatra Shanti puja on Wednesday. Where the day begins, Jyeshtha nakshatra, Shanti sometimes changes depending upon the time. While performing puja, Panditji recites the Jyeshtha Nakshatra Shanti mantra. Generally, Guruji can finish this chant or Jaap in 7 days. Hence they start pooja on Wednesday and completes it on the following Wednesday. 

Magha Nakshatra: 

People perform Magha Nakshatra Shanti Puja to nullify the bad effects of Jyeshta nakshatra in a horoscope. But they can do this puja to enhance advantages given by benefice Magha nakshatra in a horoscope. People perform Magha nakshatra Shanti puja as a Gand mool dosh nivaran puja. 

Puja takes seven days to complete. While performing puja, Panditji chant Magha nakshatra Shanti mantra. Generally, Guruji can finish this chant or Jaap in 7 days. Hence they start puja on Sunday and finish it on the following Sunday. Guruji will do all the important steps for the pooja, which is Sunday to Sunday. 

Revati Nakshatra: 

People perform Revati nakshatra Shanti Puja to nullify the bad effects of Jyeshta nakshatra in a horoscope and calm negative nakshtra horoscope. But they can do this puja to enhance advantages given by benefice Revati nakshatra in a horoscope.

They also do Revati Nakshatra puja as a Gand mool dosh nivarn puja. Guruji chants Revati nakshatra mantra while performing Revati nakshatra Shanti puja. They start puja on Wednesday and finish it on the following Wednesday. 

Ashwini Nakshatra: 

We perform Ashwini nakshatra Shanti Puja to nullify the bad effects of Ashwini nakshatra in a horoscope.

It nullifies the bad effects of the nakshatras prevailing at the time of the birth of a person. Also, to get favorable results from the planets, we perform Nakshatra Shanti Puja. It enhances inner power and confidence to produce good results.
